Kelley Drye & Warren LLP partner Henglikaili (Henry Kelly) recently said that Nokia is most likely to buy Palm.
The middle of the news this month, Palm has hired Goldman Sachs and Qatalyst Partners as a consultant for its search for buyers. Last week, sources said, as HTC, Huawei and ZTE have no intention of bidding for Palm, Palm Lenovo has been in the forefront of the acquisition.
But Kelly believes that Nokia is most likely to buy Palm. He said: "The issue in the acquisition of Palm, Nokia may be more serious."
Kelly said, Palm's patent covers a wide range, worth 1.5 billion dollars. Many smart phones, touch screen, and even Apple's iPhone were using the Palm's patented technology.
Kelly said: "Nokia and Apple are fighting the patent war, Nokia said the Apple iPod, iPhone and Mac are infringing its patents. If Nokia's acquisition of Palm, it will increase the likelihood of winning the lawsuit."
Nokia has 11.5 billion in cash, could easily acquire Palm. In addition, the Nokia back in 2007, once considered the acquisition of Palm, were later dropped. Today, the opportunity to come again.
